Can all but guarantee a rink wont be on lakefront property (unless its on top of a haz waste pit). But inland it may work. Those northern suburbs would love to have another venue to play in.

Don't get me started on title 9...poor Bucky doesn't have baseball.

Gophers in Frozen Four!!!!!

Gophers in Frozen Four!!!!!
There is quite a bit of new construction on NU campus lakefront, including a new sailing school I believe.... Not sure if/where they could put a rink, but I am hopeful.

Lots of fans of Wisc. women's hockey too.

My condolences to Bucky basketball fans.

There is no love lost between the Gophers and the...racist stereotype logos? Should be a very intense game, I'm looking forward to it.

FWIW...I don't think the NCAA should have 'forced' UND to not be the Sioux anymore, that's BS.

Minnesota Golden Gophers into Frozen Four title game with last-second goal - ESPN

What a finish.

The game vs Union should be more entertaining for the casual fan to watch. Much more up and down than tonights affair.

I was actually there last night and saw the Union vs. BC game.... unfortunately could not stay for the Minnesota game which was a hell of a finish!

The Union/BC game was very good... great action and to be quite honest after BC dominated the first 10 minutes of the game and held a 1-0 lead Union pretty much took over from there and out-played BC by a big margin. I was really impressed when in the 3rd period they had just taken a 3-2 lead they received a 5 minute major for a boarding call. They dominated the whole penalty kill and then scored their 4th goal just seconds after the kill to ice the game.

I think you've got the 2 best teams playing each other here for the Championship that's for sure.... I like Minnesota to take it!

Tough loss to swallow. That what one will hurt for a while.

Darn. Union outplayed us and Gophers got caught standing around for a couple minutes. Hate losing to these schools with a bunch of 24 yr old Canadian 'students'.

idiots! 49 shots-on-goal, really....?

I think the perception that Union roster is made up of Canadian soon-to-be pros is a bit overplayed, especially by the Gopher media apologists. 2/3 (18 of the 27) players on the Union roster are US born and there are just two 24 yr olds on the roster, one of whom is from Minnetonka.

Minnesota roster (avg age 20.8)
14 - Fr/Soph
11 - Jr/Sr

Union roster (avg age 21.6)
14 - Fr/Soph
13 - Jr/Sr

Just about all of these college players play some kind of Jr Hockey before their college careers start, although Union seems to have more of their roster that came from the Canadian Jrs.

No, it was simply the Gophers doing what they do better than anyone else, losing championship hockey games.

They commented on air that Unions average age was 23-24. I expect Melrose to make mistakes but the stat guy? Then again, Gophers stood around on defense for 5 minutes and got their hats handed to them.
