Source, please.

All I see are "If" and "Are they moving?" to this point.

I don't see any "ifs" or "Are they moving". I see, "not yets" and "It's almost a done deal". Granted, I posted this days ago when the report was a FINALIZED deal. It does seem to be hanging in the air, but negotiations have been going on.

Bettman's deniying it, but I wouldn't go by what he says.

I'd hate to see the Moose name die. I remember watching them play back in the mid 90's in the IHL as the Minnesota Moose.

I actually like the sound of the Winnipeg Thrashers. The nickname actually makes sense too.

If the Thrashers franchise doesn't keep the nickname, I prefer Winnipeg Jets over Manitoba Moose.

"Thrashers" is named for the state bird of Georgia. It doesn't make any sense in Winnipeg.

Jets.

What do Jaguars have to do with Jacksonville?

What do Penguins have to do with Pittsburgh?

What do Bulls have to do with Chicago?

It's a team's nickname. It doesn't HAVE to be associated with the area or even make sense. Besides, before they moved to Phoenix in '96, they were in Winnipeg and known as the Jets. It seems some of you don't know that, which is why it would be much, MUCH better for Winnipeg to have the team than Atlanta.
