I have a young friend (20s) who, when she was an adolescent, was a pretty good figure skater. She's a huge hockey fan now and would like to pick up recreational skating again after having not skated in several years. But, she would like to have hockey skates instead of figure skates.
Having never looked for hockey skates for a young woman, I'm not sure if there are skates made for women separate from those designed for men. I don't think there is from what I've seen with a quick look on the web.
I see that they can be pricey, not surprised by that, but for an occasional skater who might play in a women's hockey league in the near future, any recommendations as to what brand/model to consider. She's willing to spend $200-$450.00.
Our daughter just wore men's skates... and yes, they can be pricy. But not nearly as much as custom boots for a figure skater!
Thanks... and good point on the custom boots!
