I just read an article which referred to Vesa Toskala letting a puck that was shot 174 feet away; that's gots to be embarrassing for Vesa.

Does anyone know other embarrassing moments in the vein of Toskala's slip?

Patrick Roy's Statue of Liberty goal. In a 2002 game against Colorado's arch-rivals the Detroit Red Wings a sprawling Roy made an exceptional play by catching Steve Yzerman's point-blank shot-on-goal in his trapper. Roy then proceeded to raise his glove high to show that he had the puck, only to accidentally drop it and have Brendan Shanahan knock the puck into the goal.

Patrick Stefan's wiff. In the fading seconds of the third period during a January 2007 regular season game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Dallas Stars center waltzed in on an empty net with the opportunity to put his team up two goals. Instead, Stefan inexplainably failed to score, fell to the ice and lost the puck. The Oilers recovered the puck and Ales Hemsky scored the game tying goal with only 2 seconds left in regulation.

This is a sweet memory for me from 1998:

Esa Tikkanen Misses the Net - YouTube

This goal by Lidstrom is also a huge memory:

As is this one:

Those last two were huge turning points on the road to Stanley Cups in 2002 and 2008.

Patrick, Crossing Center, having no clue, was PRICELESS. In his infamous, brawl, with Chris Osgood!!!!!Roy, has undeniable talent, no doubt!ya, gotta give Credit, where it's do, He might not be the BEST guy, but a phenomenal, legend!!!!! Had this conversation with my buddy, As we each agree, Roy, and, Brodeur, we're the 2best,goalies, in the NHL, ,,I chose Roy, he chose Brodeur,,,, Who do u choose???????
