Default New to hockey... avoid hfboards.com

By far one of the more bigger disgraces in all hockey. The site is a starting point for a lot of new fans. They brainwash newer fans into thinking youtube highlights and stats is what hockey is all about. Not to mention they are on the "New" NHL's man genitals and believe its the greatest thing to ever happen to hockey, partially true, very partial. If you want to learn about hockey, just watch the game and enjoy yourself. You will catch on faster than you think.

Now for most of you who will visit it because I said to avoid it. Higher scoring does not mean better hockey. IF that were true, the All Star game would be a hit... Dont fall for that B.S. Also, no, more suspensions/fines will not eliminate most dirty play.

As a fan of all of the big four major sports, one thing that I think distinguishes hockey is that it's the best sport to watch live. TV just doesn't do the game justice (even though HD has been a big help).

As for NCAA hockey, it's a lot more along the lines of NCAA baseball. All you have to know is the reigning champ, Minnesota-Duluth, doesn't have a D1 basketball or football program.

Historical US hockey powerhouses include North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Denver, BC, BU, Maine; hockey at all levels is strongest in New England/upstate NY and the Upper Midwest...

The NCAA Frozen Four has a bit of a cult following, but is still dwarfed by the NCAA Final Four in basketball..
