I think there was enough there that the Wild should be pissed about it (late game, 6-2 lead, our star player who has worked his tail off and had 8 goals in his last 8 games) - in other words, I think the Wild should literally take both of those guys' heads off for it. How's that for old school? I'm all for "policing" within the game and I think that is a classic case of both of those guys need to have their heads taken off.

What they did to Zach in my opinion is akin to a MLB pitcher chucking a 95mph heater towards an opponent's head.

That's really where I stand on it.

Wow. That's a ridiculous take. I don't think the Jets care how much Parise "worked his tail off", they are here to win a playoffs game/series, and I can almost guarantee their intent wasn't to injure.

Honestly you just sound l like a salty fan. You can claim to be as old school as you want but as long as you think these hits are dirty/goonish I can't buy it.

Sure they're about winning games...

What I saw with that sequence (in addition to Wild being up 4 goals with 4 minutes to play) was akin to a wildthing pitcher in pro ball who can't keep his 95mph heater from hitting opponents.

Even if you don't mean it - if you throw a heater at someone's head in the MLB you're going to get dealt with. That's the way I felt about it. There was no call for the crosscheck - and the more you look at the clip, you see Scheifele cross check him there. It was bush league trash. Go ahead and watch the clip again and watch Scheifele cross check him, it is right there in color.

It's an irrelevant point now. It's just a shame we didn't get to see a series but I knew the second Suter went down all bets were off.

I admitted in my first reaponse that he got his stick up. We aren't arguing whether they should have been dealt with, we are discussing whether they were dirty/goonish plays. They weren't, and i think you are in the serious minority on this.

Also, if you really this big a problem with those plays, then you have an issue with Stevens hit as well because that was 100% elbow.

I won't carry on about it. I've said I felt it was bush league.

Dubnyk clearly gave up last night. Was disappointed that he kind of checked out.

I don't know where the Wild go from here but there aren't a lot of good options.

I did find it interesting that if it would have been the old 1-8 playoff seeding the Wild were the 8th overall (in the entire NHL) team and Winn was 2, so the Wild would have had home ice advantage opening against the Ducks had the old format been intact.

Doesn't necessarily mean we would have won (without Suter) but it's just as unfair for the Jets...who will likely be getting Nashville next round.

I hope Nashville works them over.

I hope at the very least that Fletcher and Coyle are elsewhere next season.

Coyle has been a let down. Wish we still had Burns but I get why we had to move him. https://www.twincities.com/2017/01/0...n-jose-sharks/

I don't know - we are second in playoff appearnaces among franchises in the league but just getting to the post season is like kissing your sister, as they say.

Maybe we need to tank for a decade to get a legit prospect, but not even that is guaranteed.

We did do reasonably well this year considering we were missing a top line worth of guys for a month (and more).

But it's above my pay grade to say which way they need to go at this point.

Fletcher is gone. Had to happen. Kudos to Leipold for hearing the fans and acting accordingly.
