The Wild are my team. I grew up - born and raised - just a couple miles from Downtown, and my father and I had season tickets the first five seasons of the franchise, so they literally do feel like my team.
There were few changes made to the club over the offseason, so I don't have much expectations for this club this coming offseason.
Dubnyk has been lights out so far this year though...proud to say I was among the smaller faction that believed we needed to give him what he requested in resigning him.
The Wild's season hinges on whether or not Coyle, Niederreiter, and Granlund can take that next step.

And if Boudreau can keep the team together and focused through the down periods of the season! We all know the Wild have this tendency to start out really fast, only to slump around the Dec to Jan period, then play catch up from Feb to Apr in order to get a playoff spot! I know it's better than not being in the playoffs but if they can gain a bit more consistency in their play, it would benefit them tremendously!
It's nice to see Coyle, Granlund, and Niederreiter all take that next step simultaneously. It's amazing what having a competent coach can do for a team. Yeo would have had them a few games under .500 at this point in the season. In fact they would probably be on a 7 game losing streak.
It'll be interesting to see which defensemen the Wild protect for the NHL expansion draft, I believe they can only protect 2 of the 4 (Brodin, Spurgeon, Scandella, and Dumba), I'm hoping they protect Brodin and Spurgeon. Really they can protect 3 overall, but everyone already knows Suter will be one of them.
We shredded the Rags tonight with our backup, a back-to-back with travel. lol
I loved the Staal pickup at the price per from day one and he continues to be good. I've been impressed by Zucker this season as well. Good to have Scandella back as well. Everyone is playing pretty solid.
Good luck with that. Especially if Dub is in net tonight.
Nice win for Minnesota. Long Island tried but fell short. Monster match up with Columbus looms. For the record Columbus ends your win streak.
