If this doesn't get Dan Bylsma fired, then nothing will.

Seriously!

I only hope that whomever is his successor is better!

I thought they were going to take Boston in the series, never for a moment thought they'd get swept 4 straight.

You, me, and every single hockey analyst in North America! In fact one Bruins analyst admitted he thought Pens in 7 but couldn't say that beforehand and keep his job.

Penguins extend Bylsma's contract two years along with his assistant coaches.

Gilles Meloche resigns as goalie coach and will be a scout.

Evgeni Malkin signs for 8 more years at 9.5 M per year.

The nickname, Penguins, is it now connected to the former Civic Arena or the Golden Triangle?

I don't understand what you mean by connected???

The team was named after a naming contest was held.

The Pens weren't the first pro hockey team to call the Civic Arena their home ice....that was the Hornets (AHL). Who BTW, won the Calder Cup in their last season.

I suppose the triangle in the background of some of the team's iterations of logos over the years would be to signify the triangle or three rivers.

Connected as in the nickname Penguins has anything to do with the city of Pittsburgh, that is.

Oh OK. Well, the Civic Arena was nicknamed The Igloo shortly after it was built (1961-62).

The Penguin name coincided well with that image.

It was the result of a naming contest and the two nicknames (Igloo-Penguins) blended well. It also "flowed" nicely similar to Pittsburgh Pirates (the two Ps).....just kind of goes together.
