This is a forum devoted to New York Islanders. What do you think about recent moves, and the new lease?

It appears there aren't any Islander fans here. LOL!

Imo, mgmt should embrace their new environment and change the team's name to Brooklyn Islanders. I don't think the name change would offend fans from Long Island. Overall, I think the move enables the team to increase its fan base.

But then it would salt on the wounds that they left.

IMO its time to go to Brooklyn now after getting into playoffs. Best to leave on a good note. I won't follow them however. Have no desire to trek into Brooklyn to see a game. I'll wait till we get an AHL team into the Colisseum and go to those games.

This playoff series showed that if a good product is put on the ice, fans will come. A decade of poor administration and poor player moves produced lousy teams unworthy of support.

Good luck in Brooklyn Isles, but after the newness wears off I'm curious to see how many people from LI go to the games. It is imperative that they develop a new fan base in Brooklyn, but the demographics there isn't conducive to hockey. Plus Barclays is only a 14,000 seat arena for hockey.

Good effort by the Islanders. Much respect from a Leafs fan.

Amazing vocal support from Isle fans in the home playoff games. So loud with their "Let's Go Islanders!" chant.

Saw their final game on CenterIce where fans chanted "We want playoffs!" at the end, not knowing if they could clinch in their last road games. They were rewarded, indeed.
