That's a good (and obvious, LOL) move. Hextall has worked in other organizations, and has a bigger picture of what's needed to win.

And if nothing else, he can beat the other GMs in a slug fest over a hot prospect. LOL And maybe he can teach the offense to score.

...I wish I had memories of that but I was only 8 years old. No one in the house watched hockey. My Dad did come home one day from work with a Broad Street Bullies championship shirt for me. I think that was the beginning of my love for the Flyers and hockey. I think he was just happy that a Philly team had won a championship, even if it wasn't his Eagles.

I still have that shirt! It doesn't fit but I'm hoping that some day I can wave it at a parade.

Yay. Hope he can stay healthy, mentor young defensemen, and score lots of goals!

Flyers trade Hartnell to Columbus for RJ Umberger. So another former Flyer returns.

I like Umberger, but don't recall him being anywhere near as aggressive as Hartnell is. No doubt he's a little less expensive.

I'll miss the drama of Hartnell's hair.

I think the Flyers will miss Hartnell. He had grit and talent.
