I'm not that big of a fan but I am surprised that there isn't a thread devoted to the orange and black.

The '13-'14 season will be here in a few months. What are the questions that they need to answer? I guess goalie would be the first priority. Are there any others?

goalie is 2nd, their first is finding more solid defense. The list from there is: 1st line LW, good minor prospects.

Is Bryzgalov officially gone yet? They haven't had a really good goalie in a long long time.

Do you see them making trades soon or will they go with what they have?

I'm a Rangers fan but I'll be happy to participate in the Flyers thread since I am used to seeing plenty of Flyers coverage...

Bryzgalov is officially gone as the Flyers used a compliance buyout on him... they have a list of goalies on their Roster but these 3 will be competing for jobs:

Steve Mason
Ray Emery
Brian Boucher

Ray Emery is the wild card here.... he benefited from playing with a good Chicago team the last few years... finished 17 - 1 last season and hey he got his cup ring. It's his 2nd go around with the Flyers and amazingly is their youngest goalie on the roster (29). Bottom-line.... they'll still have issues in net.

Since Bernie Parent, they have ALWAYS had goalie issues.

If the defense isn't very good, I guess it won't matter how good the goalie is.

Even if Madon is good this year, haven't we heard in the past about locker room issues with CBJ?. I think I had heard about cockiness, perhaps? Does anyone know if his stint in Philly last year was issue-free in the off-ice department, at least publicly? Maybe he's already had his sophmore slump and can return to Calder form...

Claude Giroux was holding a golf club, when, somehow, it shattered, breaking one of his fingers. He will be out for about 5-6 weeks.

Injury time line is no big deal... he'll be back before the start of the regular season.

Since the reason for the injury is very sketchy... one of three things happened.

1. They were drinking
2. They were doing things they shouldn't have
3. Both

I vote 3... LOL!

It would take ALOT of drinking to have a golf club SHATTER in your hands - LOL. Nobody said that athletes were the smartest people on the planet.

I'm not worried about the injury. It's the offseason.
