Way to early to make predictions on any team right now atleast wait till the Olympic break and the first half of the season is done to decide how well a team is doing since injuries can be a huge factor.

Also add in the Division Re-alignment and this season is up in the air and hard to figure where teams will place in the regular season since it is all different now

The Flyers are in a division where ALL the teams have some "X" factor or other. I would have said the Penguins were a lock to make the playoffs but Vokoun's absence puts the goaltending load on Fleury whose brittle psyche might not be up to it. The Flyers are one of the more injury prone teams so they could well be banged up down the stretch. I don't think Strait helps the "D" much but Lecavalier will give them a second line taking the heat off Giroux the way Mike Richards did for Kopitar in Los Angeles. I don't think the goaltending tandem will last for too long; whichever one gets hot (my bet is Emery barring injury) will become the starter. The Olympics are definetely a factor as the Penguins found out in 2010 when they lost to Montreal in the semis. Now that the philosopher-cosmonaut is no longer between the pipes. things can only get better.

Well... you don't have to go far to get "expert" team-by-team predictions... here are a couple:

Philadelphia Flyers 2013-14 Season Preview

ESPN.com's 2013-14 NHL preview: Philadelphia Flyers - ESPN

Predictions seem to be rather sporatic... so I think once again it'll be all about goaltending, and of course if they can stay relatively healthy:

Quote:
PREDICTIONS
Burnside: The Flyers will settle into the fourth spot in the Metropolitan Division and hold off Carolina and Columbus for a playoff spot.
Custance: Third in the Metropolitan Division.
LeBrun: Second in the Metropolitan Division.
Melrose: Fifth in the Metropolitan Division.
Strang: Seventh in the Metropolitan Division.
