Surprised we're not getting much hockey talk... now that we're past the halfway point we're really starting to get into the heart of the season!

The Flyers last night made me sorry the NHL is back in full swing. *sigh*

I hope we are done with these outdoor games. Maybe one on New Years is sufficient. It looks cool on TV but has to be poor from a spectator point of view. With all the ice conditions the puck tends to roll a lot...not great hockey.

Did I read that the Islanders were unable to keep Vanek after giving up a 1st and 2nd plus a prospect for him? Saw he turned down a big extension. Someone in front office should get canned for not doing homework on that.

That was a wild trade deadline couple of days! My head is still spinning.

They made him an offer a few months ago and he turned it down. Nobody wants to play for the Islanders.

Then, they waited way too long to trade him and ended up getting some pucks and sticks for him. Garth Snow stinks.

Wow, wasn't that anthem at Soldier Field last week amazing...with snow swirling around Jim Cornelisen (sp?) And the crowd was extra loud...

I agree. One or two a season is enough.
