That's only if he Caps also lose. The Rangers will lose if they're going to think about the next round now. They still have a game left this round.

Nah Caps had their chance and blew it: leading with less than 90 seconds remaining in game 5 and then going home for game 6 and running out of time, they had the chance to snag a 2nd win in New York already and blew it, so they are done.
Montreal last year in playoffs won 4 straight against TB, while the lightning reeled off 8 in a row in the regular season (all 5 regular season games) and the first 3 games of this series. They may as well not even take the flight to Montreal.

We'll see. Tonight it's winner take all game 7. What happened in the previous 6 games means nothing. It's not over until the fat lady sings...

Rangers win. Should be a good series against the Lightning in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Three out of four ain't too bad. The West winners did it in short order. Well, on to the finals.

West:

Anaheim in 6

East:

TB in 7

An OT loss is considered choking?

Capitals could easily have won that game if Lundqvist had slipped up for even a second. They dominated the first 8 minutes or so of overtime. No real Ranger fan thinks that was a win to gloat about by saying the other team choked...they didn't choke. Choking is losing that game 3-0 in game 7 after being up 3-1 in the series..they lost every game by 1 goal and Rangers only came back in series after a lucky skate redirects Kreiders shot (that would have been wide) at the end of game 5. Prior to that they were getting completely stifled by the Caps.

I think the Rangers will do better against the smaller Tampa Bay team that plays more like they do, even though they are a better offensive team than the caps. They can't be as physical as Washington was.

#LGR

Capitals outplayed Rangers throughout the series, no doubt.

But the Rangers did it!!!

Time for Tampa.
