I know there are a couple of specific team threads, but no regular season thread (at least according to the search). Opening night is tonight, and I believe there are 4 games on the schedule: the 2 games on NBCSN with the Blackhawks raising their banner against the Rangers and the Kings and Sharks renewing their rivalry right off the bat. The other 2 games are the Leafs vs. the Habs, and the Canucks taking on the Flames in their rematch from the first round last year. Most teams open tomorrow (Thursday), while there are others (Islanders being one) that don't open until Friday. What are you thoughts, predictions, observations for this season??

Leafs v Habs is best game of the night and a great way to kick off the season. A real rivalry. We'll see how much Babs changes things in Toronto.

For the playoffs. In the East I've got Montreal winning the Atlantic and the Rangers winning the Metropolitan. For the other East playoff teams I'll go: Tampa Bay (Atlantic), Islanders (Metropolitan), Capitals (Metropolitan), Panthers (Atlantic), Senators (Atlantic), Red Wings (Atlantic).
Surprise team: Buffalo. ECF: Montreal over Tampa Bay
In the West I'll go with the Blues in the Central and the Ducks in the Pacific. Other playoff teams: Wild (Central), Kings (Pacific), Sharks (Pacific), Jets (Central), Predators (Central), Blackhawks (Central)
Surprise team: Edmonton. WCF: Blackhawks over Kings
Stanley Cup: Kings over Montreal

Whoops meant Kings over Blackhawks in the West.

The Hurricanes outshot the Red Wings 47-21? and still lost

On the bright side, Noah Hanifin is a rookie but plays like a veteran. Excited to see his progression.

Some teams have excellent goaltenders or they have skaters who cannot finish opportunities with the puck.

The previous times the Habs started a season 4-0, they went on to win Lord Stanley's mug.

Now, for the first time in their storied history, they jump out of the gate 5-0.

It's in the bag.
