They have a pretty loaded team. The fact that they barely squeezed into the playoffs was what surprised me.
Well... There wasn't a large gap between the Metro teams. Washington won with 104, Columbus 'snuck' in with 98.. That's a difference of 3 games.
Outside of Tampa.. The difference between second and eighth was pretty tight. A couple bad bounces of the puck and Washington could have been in Columbus' position.
You also have to wonder if there was some complacency on the part of Tampa. Both last year and this year in the playoffs.. Maybe they bought into the hype a little too much.
Why are they wearing them -- or allowed to wear them -- in the playoffs? Aren't they considered third jerseys? I thought no team can wear third jerseys in the playoffs. No?
It's their first year wearing that particular jersey, they wore a different black jersey from 2008/09 to 2015/16. They wore the new ones for about half the home games (usually Friday or weekends)
I like both but am partial to the Black simply because the team seems to play better wearing them
What an AMAZING first round of the NHL Playoffs! Upsets galore. I LOVE IT!
I had the Bruins as my dark horse. Now it looks like the East could have multiple dark horses in this race. These games are only going to get better.
What an AMAZING first round of the NHL Playoffs! Upsets galore. I LOVE IT!
I remember back to the 2006 Stanley Cup playoffs when the 5, 6, 7, and 8 seeds in the West all advanced!
In the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs the 4, 6, 7 and 8 seeds in the East advanced to the next round. And then in 2012 you had the Kings winning it all as an 8th seed, I think that is the first time that ever happened?
Dallas is an underrated team. They gave the Blues trouble this year. Blues were 4-1 vs Nashville.
