What is known so far is that Kane has had gambling issues that has put a strain on his marriage. He supposedly went to Europe leaving his wife and children behind. Days go by where his wife can not contact him. She posted the claim that Kane was betting on games on social media. The NHL is taking it very seriously.
I guess Evander cheated on his wife or something, and this is payback. It is also hard to throw games in hockey especially when the other team is trying to hard to win it already.
No are no bench warmers, so if you are not playing up to par, others will pick up the slack, or you get sent to minors if the coach thinks you are slacking off.

While Kane has character issues, he did just come off one of his better seasons. So far there is no indication he took part in throwing any games. Now if he did any type of betting at all that's a problem. He is going through a very contentious divorce I might add, so there could be reason for the his wife to seek some revenge.
If anyone is throwing games in San Jose it's the GM. Kane was the team leader in goals, assists and points.
