The Vancouver Canucks have released a statement announcing that 21 year old Luc Bourdon was killed in a motorcycle accident (http://canucks.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=364711 - broken link) yesterday.

He was such a young, talented player with a great career ahead of him. It's such a shame that his time was cut so short.

R.I.P.

This is a blow to hockey as a whole. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Canucks, and especially to this young man's family and friends.

Ditto... it's truly a shame that such things happen.

The other night on CBC Don Cherry mentioned a Canucks fan who had a shirt Luc Bourdon autographed the night before his death, quite possibly the last such time he did so. The fan sent it annonymously to Luc Bourdon's mom. What a selfless and classy thing to do. Hockey fans are the best.
