Well a hard fought win for my Caps over the Leafs. The Gartner tribute was a class act for a class guy, and A.O. did not disappoint with 2 more goals.

8 in a row for the Bruins. It looks like all the complaints about the signing of Michael Ryder were a little premature. The guy is a scorer and he's showing it. And Phil Kessel score again, number 22. It was nice to have Aaron Ward back. We are still missing three of our top players, though: Patrice Bergeron, Marco Sturm, and Andrew Ference.

Maybe this belongs in the Winter Classic thread but.....
Barack is the man, however....
as a black hockey fan, I was miffed that he did not show up, after being invited to the Winter Classic in his hometown.
He was on vacation, so he could have just spent the rest it in Chicago and saw the game and help out the league with his presence.
I'm sure if the Bulls or even the Cubs invited him for something like this he would have been there.
It just gives reinforcement to the sad reality that hockey is not too popular along the black population at all.
Hopefully, he will get to another game this year (or he wants to chance it and wait for the Hawks to be in the cup finals, very unlikely, at least this year)

Glad Carolina closed out a tough 2008 year with a win last night. I was hoping the team would get at least 40 points before the end of december and we did.

Im glad he wasnt there. The stadium was filled with enough poser hockey "fans" to begin with. Last thing we need was Barack there, Im glad they dont bring politics into those types of games, its not necessary.

And the Bruins beat the Penguins twice in three days. Yes, I know Pittsburgh is not playing well right now, but they're still loaded with talent so those were nice wins. 10 in a row for the B's, and 14 straight at home, I believe.
And Andrew Ference is skating again, which is a good sign. He's coming back from a cracked tibia.

All good things must end, I guess. Buffalo beats Boston today to snap their 10 game win streak.

Another win for Carolina. 3-2 at Tampa, a good solid effort from start to finish. I hope we can keep it going.
I gotta say too, I'm impressed with Maurice and Francis coaching us so far.
