Haven't been on here in quite a while, but I thought I'd remind everyone who the current Stanley Cup Champions are. Detroit is currently UNDEFEATED on the road (4-0) and sitting at 6-1-1 overall, in 1ST PLACE. Just began a rough part of their schedule where 10 of the next 13 games are on the road, including 5 in a row, currently. This part of the schedule is a good test, but if they pass it they'll be set up to dominate the West for the rest of the season thereafter. Oh, and I also recall watching them beat the Junior AA Pee-Wee team down there in Chicago last night. Too bad about the ChokeHawks...
Oh puhleeze. It went to a SO, so if the Hawks are AHL quality, it took another AHL quality team to barely beat them. And if you want to go that far, need I remind you of last season? WE OWNED YOU WANGS.
I smell something. Have you changed Chelios' diaper lately? It reeks. Then again it might be Detroit that Im smelling, its hard to differentiate between the smells.
And the Bruins win one in overtime! This team looks good! Phil Kessel looks like a man on a mission, and Lucic is just a monster! Once Sturm starts scoring they should be a real threat... well, a threat to make it to the playoffs, anyway!
I only watched bits and pieces -- too entertained by Carolina vs. Montreal in French courtesy of NHL Center Ice which I'm still getting free from the fine (for now) folks at Comcast -- but every time I tuned in Atlanta was picking a fight. They don't know who they're messing with ...
Two shutout wins in a row for Tim Thomas and the Bruins. Kessel looks better with each passing game, too.
If their defense becomes a little more stable (Thomas can't always bail them out) I think we have a top 5 team in the East on our hands!
Last night's Bruins-Stars game was freaking intense. Steve Ott is a cheap shot artist supreme. He was even worse than Avery, which is a saying a lot. 146 total penalty minutes, I think. Even Marc Savard was punching Avery in the head, and Savard is not a fighter.
Oh, and the Bruins won 5-1.
