Do You Follow Your AHL Affilate ?
In Milwaukee we were supposed get a NHL team a while ago but we still have The Milwaukee Admirals, Nashville's AHL team so around the city you will see Nashville NHL gear on people and they are fans here of Nashville just b/c we are Nashville's AHL team. But how close do NHL fans follow the AHL?

If I actually lived in a city with an AHL team I probably would follow them, but even at an hour away, I do not pay any attention to the Grand Rapids Griffins. The AHL does have some of the coolest logos though.

Back in the 80's and 90's The Milwaukee Admirals used to be one of the more popular venues in the city drawing 15-20,000 for a game but then the promise of a NHL team never came and then the fans went away.

Houston Aeros 5
Milwaukee Admirals 2
Aeros in Winnipeg starting Friday.
Since games 3-5 are spread across next Mon, Wed, and Fri, maybe it's best my minimester class does not make after all. This is a promise to myself (catching some puck this year) that I can NOT bhreak any longer.
(That should answer the question for me.)

Actually I don't follow my team's AHL affiliate, the Wolfpack because I don't live in Hartford. I live in Scranton and follow the Baby Pens since I go to many games. I need to feed my hockey hunger somehow and even though it's minor league, it's still fun to go and watch real live hockey and the stars of the NHL's future.

I do keep up with the Albany River Rats through their website and other sources. If I am ever in that town, I will go to a game there, assuming the season is still in session.
I would vote for the first choice, but I have no idea who the Houston Ice Hogs are. Did you mean Rockford IceHogs?
