Pittsburgh is a fine team but i think very few people considered Detroit the underdog. Whatever Babcock and his assistants are scheming on defense, it is sure working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Director of Blah blah blah said the rule did not apply to the situation that Malkin was in. He says the only other penalty that should have been called but wasn't was a game misconduct for not tying down his jersey. LMAO!!!

Who cares? I am getting tired of the Wings getting the shaft all the time (ever since the lock out), but even when they do get the shaft they come out on top... So what is there really to whine about?!!!
I mean, Wings only have to win 2 out of 5 left to win the Cup for the 2nd time in 2 years!!!...

GO WINGS!!! Whoooaaa We're halfway there! Whoa Oh! Pitts is livin' on a prayer!!

It's all over the internet. Pens fans keep telling everyone how good they are, how improved they are, how the Wings are going to be surprised, etc... As of game 2, I still don't see it. If there are any surprises, it's Osgood, who has played great in every playoff game except possibly the 4th game against the BJ's. This after being the worst goalie in the NHL this season. Crosby and Malikn have been shut down, just as predicted. Abdelkader has more goals than both of them put together! If the Pens are so good, we're still waiting to see it. The Hawks were better than the Pens judging from these 2 games. The Ducks-Wings series was the series with the 2 best teams, not this one. The Pens still have a chance, but they have to win 4 of 5 to do it now. They have to win one to avoid seeing Hossa raise the Cup in Pittsburgh (that would be awesome though!). Looking forward to game 3!

P.S. Malkin wasn't suspended. No surprise, but that was an awfully quick review. I don't believe in conspiracies, but this decision reeks! Oh well. Wings will win anyways.

****....Zetterberg did not win...he hit the ref more than Malkin.

Why doesn't Zetterberg get out of the net when there is a scrum in front of the net? Every time he dives behind Osgood!

Detroit is getting most of the calls (Hossa's slashing...plus the puck was cleared prior to the wings second goal) and getting all the bounces...quit crying!

If the Wings come through, that will be 5 titles in 12 seasons. In todays era of free agency, that is a true dynasty.

I have to say that although I'm a die hard Detroit fan, I agree with the NHL's decision not to suspend Malkin. The rule states that the refs call is subject to the discretion of the league. Malkin was obviously not sent onto the ice with the intention of instigating a fight......it was a spur of the moment reaction to Zetterberg going after Talbot, and Zetterberg didn't shy away from the confrontation by any means. It was a joke of a fight, but I had no problem with it because it only made the arena even louder than it already was and exposed Pittsburgh as a frustrated and defeated bunch.

I'm certainly not saying Malkin's status had nothing to do with him escaping a suspension.....I'm not that thick. I guess I would just prefer to see the Wings beat Pittsburgh with Malkin and Crosby both in the lineup so I don't have to listen to Pens fan whine with excuses all off season. After all, how great has it been to watch our minor leaguers outplay their "superstars"??

Hossa didn't slash anything. Check this link for proof.

Just watched the vid. When Zetts jersey comes off then he throws Malkin down on the ice. He gets back up, but the ref steps in. Zetterberg still gets in some good shots on Malkin, who tries to hit him around the ref. Looks like nobody won, but Zetterberg looked to have the upper hand when the ref stepped in. Look at the vid.
