Default Olympic effect on US popularity

What do you folks think?

It seems to me that this year's Olympics has dramatically increased the US's interest in the sport. It appears that it's not only NHL fans that are caught up with it... others are buzzing about the tournament also... especially the US v Canada game tonight.

Will hockey see an upsurge of interest after this years games?

I hope so....

Amazing? The physical play has been exciting, but the puck handling and passing, particularly by the U.S., has been underwhelming. We're ahead because of Canadian mistakes.

Both the Rus/Cze and this game right now have been fantastic. If you haven't seen the highlight of Ovechkin just flatlining Jagr, you've got to see it. Set up the GWG by Malkin.
