I'm a Flyers fan and you won't hear excuses from me. Oh well. We lost to an upstart, talented, and well-coached team. Hawks should be contenders for years to come. No shame in losing to a team like them. Plus it beats seeing the status quo like Detroit win it or some fairweathered fanbase like Washington, Pittsburgh or San Jose win it.

Penguins season ticket holder since 1967 here.

Were you even alive the last time the Flyers won it all?

No I wasn't. And the Pens couldn't give away tickets before Super Mario. Like I said nice to see a loyal fan base win it that isn't the status quo like Detroit.

This city is going crazy right now. Amazing stuff
Best friend and I just went out in the South Loop. People honking, flags waving, people running up and randomly hugging/high-fiving us, people pouring out of bars and whoopin' -- and this is a sedate neighborhood. My guess is Wrigleyville is like Mardi Gras right now.

^ It's insane. I just walked through. Choppers with spotlights, paddy wagons getting rocked, people as far as you can see, hundreds of broken champagne and beer bottles on the streets, beer flying all over Clark, ect. My boss in the West Loop said streets are shut down there as well, and my friend down in Bridgeport said it's insane with honking and people on all the corners screaming.

The cops had totally given up here, they were just trying to contain it to certain streets in Lakeview. I'm in Uptown now and I can still hear choppers, hoking and screaming outside. It was nuts. Gotta love it.

Lesson learned.....if the Cubs every win - this city is going to burn to the ground.

If the Cubs ever wind the World Series... we're gonna have to rename this place The Third City about 10 years later
