Yet you DO think the term applies to a team that went to a Game 7 and lost?

Hmmmmm????

Hmmmmmm...all you want.......two evenly matched teams that go through a 7 game series in mostly one goal games and one finally loses is hardly a choke........but a heavily favored team that allows itself to be extended to 7 games by a far, far less talented 8th seeded team and loses on home ice in game 7 is definitely a CHOKE of epic proportions.

You really don't grasp hockey at all do you? ANYTHING can happen in the playoffs and teams are pretty evenly matched when they start them. Seeding is meaningless. I think you have even said that here yourself if I recall correctly.

Wasn't that when people were saying that Philly only got into the playoffs by a single shootout goal?

Really ? ......then next year we'll just have Gary Bettman pull 16 team names out of a hat and those teams go to the playoffs in a free for all ?

OMG!!!!

You have said that here on this very board!!!!

So....are you going to now contradict yourself again?

If you don't know what is meant by seeding is meaningless once the playoffs START, then you're beyond bothering with.

Choke.....are you nuts ??? You want a definition of "choke".....look up choke in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of Washington or Pittsburgh in the playoffs.....or you can just take a look at the Islanders entire season.....thats choke my friend.
By your definition the Islanders over achieved and didn't choke. We were the underdogs in almost every game; but I know how you always do things. The Islanders aren't a playoff team, that makes you feel better, right? Sounds like someone avoiding the question and making excuses, now doesn't it? HYPOCRITE!!!
