Staying away from neutrals as they would obviously look great, are there any other colors that might compliment a red brick fireplace in a kitchen?

Greens always look nice with red but you have to be careful that you don't get the Christmas look.

The thing is: the color has to compliment not only your red brick fireplace but also the cabinets, appliances and floor. That's why I was asking for a picture to see the whole interior

Ah yes. Bricks are more brown, black, dark red with neutral tones as well, than "brick red".

A sagey type green. Some kind of light gold or yellow.

Try Sherwin Williams 6127 Ivoire. It's a gold color that blends nicely with many other colors.

Sherwin Williams Jogging path is my latest find. Its a sagey/grayish color that would work great with those colors. I am using it in a kitchen with blacks appliances, brown cabinets, a granite that has blacks & browns, a maple colored floor. if you go to Sherwin Williams' website they also have color visualizing tool

I love Laura Ashley Olive #3 or 4 - looks great with almost any color. I've used in in both my present and previouse house. You can have it mixed at Lowes.
