Default Paint color in coastal cottage living room

We have purchased a yellow and white striped sofa & loveseat along with a swivel glider in yellow with a sealife motif print for our Florida beach cottage living room.

Our dilema is picking a wall color for this room. The room gets plenty of sunlight and we initially thought we would use a "toes in the sand" color on main walls with one accent wall. Bringing in accent colors of light aqua and corals. Any advice appreciated!

I think a nice blue color would look great, I feel like yellow is best in a room when it's a "pop" color. Your sofa could be that pop and with nice blue walls it would be relaxing but still vibrant and fun. The color we painted our living room looks great with yellow, it's a behr color called either prelude or silent tide, which ever is the lighter one, can't remember which was lighter since we used both.

The toes in the sand would be a great color and deeper hues of the the toes in the sand on the accent wall, Depending if you plan to hang art.

Take a look at Coastal Living magazine or even Country Living to get ideas, they use similar color palettes.

I like the idea of a soft blue or green with a TON of gray in it. One of those chameleon colors that you can't really describe exactly what color it is? You could still use your "pops" of aqua and coral.
I agree, Coastal Living has great photos!
Might want to check out the design blog of The Lettered Cottage. Layla has some awesome paint recommendations.

I vote for a white or cream color.

Stick with your coastal earth tones of colors like seafoam green, (light greens) ocean blues, and sky colors...

"Rainwash" by Sherwin Williams is a really nice soft blue/green with a touch of gray.

Light aqua and pastel flamingo pink (shrimp), coral is too orangey.

And yes, I like your idea best.

If your sofa had been anything but yellow, I would have recommended yellow.
