I hang out here quite a bit and have for a while.

I would seriously consider removing those curtains, though. They disappear right into the wall.

I didnt notice you posted here until quite recently.
Too bad you werent here while we were trying to get an off-topic chat sticky to hang at the top of this sub-forum.
I'm thinking of asking Beretta if we could try it again.....it was a lot of fun, seeing everyones pix, and speaking of all the ins, outs, off-topics and silliness that can make up the design world.

See, if we had the off-topic chat sticky that I am speaking of, I wouldnt have to ask where they were posted.
Care to share the thread?

If you're really interested, just do a search on my name. I think one had to do with wainscoting.

Actually, that wasnt painful at all, glad you posted before/afters, I'm glad, I always take them for professional and personal projects.
The difference in the rooms is amazing!
I would love to see what you did with the rooms after you got all that work finished.
May I ask how old the house is?
Woodwork in the befores looks like 80s style.
I am getting ready to do a house on the Intercoastal in New Smyrna that has very similar woodwork and cabinets, its all going buh-bye.

Thanks. The DR; Just the table is missing, other than that I like a clean look, not cluttered, mainly because I hate to clean.

House is about 5 years.

The woodwork before was just the stained chestnut small colonial base and trim.

Its very clean and neo-classic now, one could do almost any style in the DR, and it would look right at home.
That small clamshell molding, done in dark stain, just always seems to date a house, I dont know why folks still do it....if all one can afford is clamshell, paint it white, you know? Makes the room look so much bigger.
I'm with you on the cleaning thing, hate it!
I'll be glad to get back to work in Florida, then I can justify paying someone else to clean that house, lol.
Not that Missouri isnt great, its home, but I cant justify paying someone else to clean less than this house, its only 1200sf.

Yeah, the builders are just cheap. As you can see, changing to a larger molding, all white makes all the difference.

The trim over the doors, with the built-up profile I just love. It is a one piece header, here; First one.

MDF door header molding
