IKEA does not advertise those as stackable. Did you end up buying them? how did it work out?

There are a few folding ones here that I could see working ...

Otherwise, I'm out of (quick) ideas too for something traditionally styled that stacks too.

Do note that if you were to replace the table top, you'd give up the expandable feature (with the hidden leaf). The thing is, it's the base that really makes the table traditional. Perhaps replacing the base with one from the Billsta (I believe they're available separately) plus some modern styled stacking chairs won't make it look so out of place.

As stated in the original post, my table has no leaf and was part of a set. It looks like that table but it is not the exact same model.
