Peeve- when every piece of furniture and accessory in the room (dining rooms excluded) looks like it was bought in the same store at the same time. "Look, it's living room package #9-American classic contemporary- from Rooms to Go!".
Here you go, this is a restaurant in Chicago called Gulliver's. They have purposely made every decorating mistake they can think of. Its fun to go in there and look at all the junk on the walls.

I agree with whoever mentioned the cheap hgtv fixes. I remember watching some show on there and the designer was redecorating a living room. She actually put gold stickers on a coffee table and covered it with a glass cover and acted it like it was the greatest idea ever. I'm like are you kidding? She could have gotten something really nice from homegoods. At least something that wouldn't require gold stickers.
What I love that I think a lot of people don't like is glam everything lol. The mirrored furniture, tufted furniture, chandeliers, etc. I adore it all.

I so agree with you. In one Trading Spaces (worst idea ever) didn't she do a room in chicken feathers? Really?!?
I've cringed when I watched some of the stuff they'd do on the home staging shows. OMG. They covered an old linoleum floor in stick down tiles. The original floor was fine, but looked out-dated. So the fix was to use stick downs? So those will start peeling up in about a month and the floor will be damaged underneath. Nothing like forcing your buyer into a quick flooring purchase.

Chicken feathers??????
Ugh, I hatehatehate those shows.....they give clients completely unrealistic expectations!
Plastic anything
Crooked, cheap, tacky artwork hung too high - art work should be at eye level
Linoleum floors
Faux painting jobs from the '80's
Houses where all the rooms are painted completely white
Pergo Floors - my neighbor had dark stained woodwork all over the house and she did a remodel including extending the family room and had to spend over $200,000 on the renovations (including an inground pool). What doe she put on the floors? Blonde and very shiny Pergo. It was nauseating.
Horizontal blinds
Lamps and accessories covered in gilt and cherubs
Oh, yeah I totally agree with the stenciled writing on the walls
Plastic slipcover protectors - their in the "very bad taste" catagory
Hummel figurines all over the place - not grouped together in one spot
Blank walls in homes with NO good artwork anywhere - live it up and buy a good print, poster, starving artist's original artwork can be good. In other words, tasteful artwork doesn't have to be expensive but can add color and beauty.
Wallpaper except the grass like stuff
Popcorn ceilings
Formica countertops

I'm really hoping you meant vertical, not horizontal blinds.
