I'm taking a room in my home and transfering it to a laundry room. The floors are a orange color and i can't figure out what color to paint the walls. I also have wainscoating that is just a light brown color. Should i paint that white? Thanks

Can you use the same color scheme as a room adjacent to the utility room? Or the exterior paint colors?

You could paint the entire wall, including the wainscoting, one color that would flow into the next room or to the outdoors; or if you paint white, I would paint only the wall above the wainscoting and the ceiling. I wouldn't put white near the floor of a utility room due to wear and tear, it will look dirty very quickly.

I would paint the wainscoating white and the walls above it a very light shade of the orange tiles to tie the room together.

It is important to choose a good paint color for house painting. Generally laundry rooms are small in size. I think the combination of green and pink will good.

Get some small paint sample pots. Paint up some A4 sized cards with the colours of your choice and then move the sample sheets around the room and at different times of the day and night (seeing how they look in artificial light).

There are some nice off whites that are not so harsh, but still light.

And get rid of the orange floor.

If you have to keep the orange flooring and don't want white, try yellow. Like the yellow of a Post It note. It's very cheery and warm and should go well with the orange. Wainscoting could be white.

I agree although I like green and pink...save that for a bedroom perhaps.

A light shade of orange to go with the floor would be the best. Pale, pale, orange. If you hate orange go with a pale yellow, yellow will go with orange quietly.
Yes, white trim is fine.
