Opinions on Tufenkian and Safavieh Rugs (contemporary, brand, quality, carpets)

I'm in the market for several area rugs and have found several I like. Brands are Tufenkian and Safavieh. I'm looking for any opinions about the quality of these brands and their products.

Where are they from, what are they made of, and how are they made?

Not sure where you're located but I've been using the PDC for high end rugs and The Rug Market for kind of a Pottery Barn Quality over the past 12yrs. Both places in Los Angeles.
