I've been searching for upholstery fabric for the chairs too. I actually have the sample for the blue peridot with gold. It's very understated.. the blue is more like a silvery blue. But, I wasn't crazy about the chenille. My husband liked it though.
I prefer the green. I have so much blue in this house that I think a green might be better. And I like that it's a damask.
I love the curtains with the rug. Wow.. they're so pretty together. I'm not crazy about the green for the chairs, but I think a different green would work. On my monitor the upholstery green is almost an olive color.
What paint color would I put on the walls? Should I go with a lighter sandy color?
I like the deeper color better. Any suggestions on whether or not I should paint or stain the furniture in that room?
thanks so much Hopes. I really love and appreciate what you've done for me.
I like the deeper color too. Definitely go lighter than the drapes.
As for painting the furniture, I say go without painting first. After you have it all together, you can decide if you need to go further and paint the funiture. You might end up loving your set after you have the right fabrics in the room. If not, these fabrics will work with part of the set painted too. The chairs and bottom of the table can be painted cream instead of white.
You're welcome. I had fun. Hubby just came to kiss me goodnight. I said, "I'm decorating for someone. I like doing it since I can't afford to decorate m own house right now." LOL Plus it always makes me feel good to help people see the process so they can do it on their own.
Seriously, for a dining room, I say pick a rug or curtains that you absolutely love. Then pick everything else according to that one thing. But don't go too matchy matchy with every item being the same color. That's why the rug and the drapes look so well together. They're not matchy matchy but they compliment each other well.
