Glad you posted this, I just read it, and was about to reply, but you've said it all, and quite well!
I'm sorry to hear your feel that way, you know?
I often see the "professionals" pushing their personal preferences more than the average decorating enthusiast. If someone says they want to accomplish X, many will try to help them accomplish X if they are passionate about it. regardless of if they like it or not. But the "professionals" will often try to steer them towards what they personally prefer.
The Ihatemylivingroom thread is a perfect example. It's what the OP wanted. It's what she loves. When she stopped listening to the professionals, the professionals stopped posting in her thread. The funny thing is that the professional decorator she consulted from Ethan Allen told her to buy a rug size that was too small.
Another example is the current laminate floor thread. That OP came here asking for laminate floor recommendations. But most professionals didn't give advice about laminate and gave advice about wood instead. EVEN though the OP reinterated that she has done wood previously and she wants laminate this time. She made it very clear she wants laminate, not wood.
I could go on and on, but I won't because it's irrelevant since we are all here to give our own opinions and guidance. Nobody's advice or opinions are more important than others. Since everyone's opinions come across as preachy, it's downright unnecessary to accuse one another of preaching gospel.

And I am sorry you felt the need to post this, as it is the height of passive-aggressiveness against the professionals.
BTW, the "decorators" at EA are not professionals, they're salespeople, nothing more, nothing less.

There was nothing PASSIVE about my post.
Just shared how I feel about being accused of preaching gospel, and pointing out how it was like the pot calling the kettle black.
That's a lot of red. I would keep red as a accent wall, then paint the rest as a neutral color like tan. Some people can be scared off by all that red especially if it's not their color.
I usually hate red and thought I would hate this, but its gorgeous. No wonder its rents all the time (where is it??) I would LEAVE the red everywhere but the room that has the red sofas. Paint that a neutral like one of the bedrooms, a tan.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with the rest of the rooms, and for godsakes DO NOT paint ANY wall green and /or add ANY green accessories! It WILL end up screaming "Christmas" if you do.

Thanks for your feedback. I have decided to paint the room with the red sofas Sherwin Williams Ivorie or Blonde. Going there after rental season and will take the SW color fan deck with me.It does rent solid end of March through October and sometimes the week of Thanksgiving & the week after Christmas so someone likes red but it does need updating soon. The exterior is even being repainted to Sherwin William Quietude with white trim..Lots to do in the coming months. I will PM you where this is located since you asked.
If it were mine, I'd slipcover the red sofas and then paint over all the wall reds in another color scheme. Blue & white is always right for seaside properties. Or, I wouldn't object to a pale green or two wall to accent the green striped chairs- but sparingly.
