I'm moving in an apartment fairly soon (May 15th) and was just wondering what everyone thought the best budget paint is? I'll only be in this apartment for a year or two at most, so I don't want to go too crazy on quality. However, I also don't want have to paint multiple coats with some cheaper brands since that'll just be costing me money in the end.

Any suggestions?
Thank you.

First... are you even allowed to paint?
Most landlord frown upon that.

I'll just stick to the question at hand-
Anything you can find under $20/gal would probably fall under the category of "budget" price.
But, if you want budget price AND quality name brand paint- and a specific color is not a major concern; look for or ask for the Oops/ mismatched paints. You can usually get a gal for less than $10. I've picked up a gal or two for base coats and paid $4/ea.

You know, I used to love Martha Stewart paint, but I'm not sure Kmart carries it anymore, but could be some other box store does, or maybe it's named something else now, I just don't know.

I'd look for Bahr or Valspar on sale. I've tried cheap paint and it just wasn't worth it. It doesn't go on well, makes streaks usually, and needs two coats.
You can also buy Bahr with a base coat right in the paint if need be over a dark color.
If going over white or a tan one coat works.
I've seen it go on sale under $20.00 check the ads.
Dutch Boy is another option. What is nice about these paints is that they go on like butter. They are nice and thick like melted butter. Sooooo much nicer then watery paint.
