Default Accent color ideas.

Hello everyone,
I have just finished painting and flooring my new house, so I am a blank slate.
I am trying to find an accent color for my sectional that arrived today. Maybe take out some of the pillows and replace it with this color and add a chair in this color. I was thinking maybe a blue color?

The walls are a light brown / khaki color and the floor.

Thanks for any ideas!

here is a better view of the actual color of the sectional.

I'd go with something in the orangey family...but I'm bold like that.

I think your couch is gorgeous, as are the floors. Yes, you asked about blue, and I do like blues and browns together. Another good combination, aside from the above post about orange, are burgandies and even a small splash of red. But you know what, all colors go with your browns, on account of brown has become a new "neutral." So, I think you could buy some pillows to start out with, in diff shades and diff colors, and throw them on the couch and stand back and see which ones you're really gravitating towards. Then you'll know what your main accent color should be. Oh, I envy the fun you will have! GG

The couch in the second photo has a lovely color. However, the entire first photo looks very bland....if it is not a problem with the photo just being overlit, then I would be really concerned to get some life into the room....I admit to being adverse to neutral colored walls, though.

Someone has suggested orange, which I happen to like. But perhaps some light terracotta (flower pot color), plus some mossy greens would look good with the couch and floors -- both would work very well with the colors you have. And once you have some pictures on the walls the room will get some more life too.

Consider a large, broad-leafed plant in a terra pot, your room seems to have lots of light.

I really like the sectional and think cinnamon would look nice. I think I would also add a dark teal to the mix.

Alrighty, thanks for all the ideas. I think I will buy some pillows and see which ones look best to me. Orange is out, as its the colors of my football teams rivals, eww! And yes, I was planning on adding a plant in the living room to give it some life.
The floors are laminate from Lowe's, I think they were only 1.39 / sf.

Should the curtains match the accent pillows? Or should I do a brown color to keep it neutral.

Thanks again your opinions are much appreciated!

Beautiful, Beautiful floor
Since I have no idea what it costs to have flooring done-
Can I ask what the price was for the flooring/install? Also what size is the room?

Thank you so much.
