I'd like to get some artificial ones but don't know a search term to find them.

This looks like a kind of palm tree. Try searching palm and see what turns up.

Howea palms
Chamaedorea palms
These two palms are the most widely used palms for interiors of that stature.
And like everything else- I'm sure theres someone who makes artificial ones.

But for as well as they do, you may just want to get the real thing!

Thanks k'ledgebldr, howea seems to be the official name for kentia palms. that is most likely it.

I'm going to try artificial being I kill everything I attempt to grow, either through over or under watering, or from spider mites coming out of nowhere to invade them.

It's palms and ferns. Both easily found at your local home improvement store for not much money. If they start getting ratty, just replace them.

Yes it looks to be the variety howea belmoreana palm, 'aka' the Curly Palm or Kentia Palm.
The fern below it looks to be a Boston Fern.
