Very very very "personalized" -- to the point where even those who can understand the enormous amounts of labor that went into that might not like the "style" and might also question the strength / durability of a very non-standard "statement" that in many homes will need to withstand a lot of abuse...

I don't like it. I appreciate the craftmanship and hard work that went into carving that, but I don't like it.

It is very cool, and very nicely done.

That being said, I wouldn't want it in my house; I'd forever be thinking that the rail was melting.

Me too ... it looks like something I might have a nightmare about ... the bottom looks like feet that are gonna rise up and come up and suffocate me as I sleep ... I think I will lock my bedroom door tonight!!

My mom had a custom metal banister made for her stairs kind of like this one. I'll see if she has a photo. It's very unique but they are not planning on moving anytime soon.

That metal one looks deadly if someone slipped and fell into one of the branches.

Hahahaha. I never really though about the practicality of that banister. I don't think my mom's has any pointy parts on it.
