Cute doormat. That reminds me that I LOVE my doormat. I don't know if it's made by this same company, but it's the same. Single moms and colleges students make them in Maine from old lobster lines. They're colorful and just about indestructible.

I gasped when I saw your tea kettle - it's so cute, and I want one! Even though we switched to electric kettle long time ago.

As for the OP - great post! I just contemplated yesterday how sometimes we go to the store like Ikea (went there yesterday) and buy some little things that make me very happy. Somehow Ikea always delivers these for me.

From our yesterday trip: little foldable shelves that can be put inside a cupboard - see attached - make my cupboards so organized, it's nice to have an extra shelf and not pile 12 plates on top of each other. I think each shelf was around $6 or so.

A pair of curtains ($15) that completely transformed our guest bedroom:

I also love Ikea white porcelain plates as you may be able to see from my cupboard picture , and they are relatively cheap. My favorite product from their kitchen utensil department is by far this milk frother:

I heat the milk in the microwave, froth it with this frother, put "espresso" aka "strong coffee" in (I have a fake espresso machine) and I have my own cappuccino/latte!

Thanks. I hope people continue to update with their little items!

I don't always like Ikea but they had curtains I REALLY wanted a few months ago. It also involved a tree but looked like one whole tree when the curtains were together (meant for two side-by-side windows) but I don't see them on their site.

I have a little tea pot collection. There are 4 of them in my kitchen cabinets, that I have in the glass doors, and the tea pots are fruit.

Orange, Apple, Lemon, Lime, and they are little tea pots.

The colors in the cabinets look pretty and I like to look at them. I need to learn how to post pictures here so i can show them.

I painted one wall in my dining room a deep fuchsia. It's gorgeous and the bright pop of color makes me so happy. (My place is essentially a loft, so the dining room is quite open, so I get to admire and enjoy the color more than if it was a closed-off room).

At first I read your post and thought "I could never paint a wall fuchsia." But then I looked down and noticed I am wearing a cute little Banana Republic fuchsia sweater - it is my favorite sweater because I adore that color....so I have reconsidered - in the right space (a loft would be perfect), I think a fuchsia wall would also make me happy

I agree about the fuschia accent wall. It could be lovely. I hope Wry_Martini can post a photo.

There are so many good ideas and wonderful impressions in this thread. Thanks to the OP for starting it.

We also have one fuchsia/burgundy wall in the living room of our new house. Our leather set is burgundy and the wall just sets the tone for warmth. Love it! BTW, we've always been plain old "off white" or earth tones people and this was a very daring attempt which worked out fabulously.

I like my little iron dogs who live in a kitchen cupboard.
