Dug this thread up just to show off my latest find

This solid pine armoire from Re Store for ...wait for it ...


$40 !!

My son and his wife are going to restore it and use it in their home

I love that! I see a lot of similar items on CL -- i.e., huge armoires that people presumably used for large tube TVs, then they replaced the tube TVs so now have no use for the armoires. I'd love to buy several as they are all dirt cheap but I have no way to get them home.

My sister has one like that. Very Pretty. You can get beautiful armoires for great prices now that TVs are flat screens.

I'd love to buy a few of them to use the traditional way---clothing and linen storage. I'd install a rod and/or shelves inside

This one has been altered but my son is planning on turning it back to its original use. It looks like it has been painted so it will need to be stripped and refinished but for $40 it was a bargain.
