that was my experience with a/c and paint. when the window was open, the paint dried normal.
so I open a window. dry air dies things, a/c doesnt.

it is like having wet towels in the bathroom, they dont dry when a/c is on.

A/C actually drys the air out which helps things evaporate their water / dry out quickly. No, not as quickly as hot dry air, but for example, in the humid summer, having A/C on will actually improve the drying of a wet towel vs just having the windows open. Same for paint. Now as far as "streakiness" I can't attest to that as I haven't seen it but I don't doubt it, depending on the velocity of the discharge air and location of the diffusers, but A/C should do nothing but help things dry out by keeping the indoor air dryer via wringing the water out at the cooling coil.

The A/C definitely helps dry things...
that is what it does - it takes moisture out of the air.
