[IMG][/IMG]This wallpaper is not exactly modern. Its not looking bad but definitely not modern. How can I pull of a modern/chic look with it if I dont want to buy another kinda of wallpaper.
mirror light? picture hanging. any specific suggestions on this or please show me a picture maybe to inspire. THANKS A LOT
damask can work in some mixed contemporary settings at least; however, the specific print and color combination shown is not very conducive to a "modern" setting at all. The lines and style of that wallpaper typically will not work well if you are trying to go for a modern feel, especially if you are planning to do every room in that wallpaper.

This would not be my first choice for a bathroom that has stark white bath surround. Presumably you have also white floors, and perhaps white tile around the sink? Big contrast.
What color are the walls around the bath. When you open the door to the bath, what color would blend with those, and is it a color you love?
If you are set on wallpaper, I recommend finding a local paint store, and paging through wallpaper books. You'll be amazed at the variety. Set aside some time, and look hard before deciding on something from a thumbnail online. You are going to be investing lots of hours in this project. Take your time deciding what you are going to do.
Find a light fixture with clean lines, find modern art work that you like, and find modern fixtures like the towel holder, etc. Damask is not modern, but you can incorporate modern into the room.

SXMGirl is right, you can work with this wallpaper and CFoulke has a great solution in that link.
I just saw the other post about your bathroom. The link shows a very good solution for your bathroom. Just be sure to have the shower curtain attached very securely with all the activity a young family like yours will give it. Maybe attache a stylish side hook to get it out of the way for bath time.
In fact on Houze site I put in Damask modern bathroom and came up with a lot of samples. So go to it. Granted the patterns are lot more muted than your red and cream sample but it can be done.
