I don't have any cans that are only LEDs, but I have put LEDs in cans. One came with the trim. You just screwed a connection into the bulb socket and plugged the LED trim into it and mounted the trim. The other was a LED bulb that just screwed in.
As for light, I had to put a dimmer switch on the one with the trim. The light was at least twice as bright as the old CFL flood light bulb, plus there was no charging delay. The LED bulb is also bright, but I'm holding off on a dimmer until I replace all the CFL bulbs on the chain as they burn out. I won't know how bright the room will be with all LED bulbs.
Do pay attention to the lumens of each LED light. I believe the ones I have are 400+. I'm not sure if the ones under 250 will be bright enough.
I replaced the recessed can light in my shower with an LED model. It was specifically designed for a retrofit installation. The job was quick, easy, and looks great. Best part is I got it for half-price from the clearance rack at Home Depot.
Check prices if you're doing new cans. I am doing my remodel and the wonderful state of California has TITLE 24 code which requires me to do what is called high efficacy lighting for the main kitchen lighting. Which means the main lighting has to be hid or led and cannot have a screw in style bulb. It has to take a specific plug style or double pin style.
I just bought 6 led bulbs and trim ring combos with pig tails for 4 inch cans. 40 bucks a pop. But I shouldn't have to ever replace them.
Check the price of the led if you are using new construction cans. Each light is costing me $60
