The gears in my brain are turning. On Monday, some young, fit, firefighters will come and remove the never used exercise equipment from our bonus room for their new sports complex. We are very happy that someone can use it.
The room is half carpet, and half Pergo with built in desks, so it was used for a guest bedroom/office by the previous owners. We will keep the office half, but use the carpeted half as a lounge/library. It will be fun to figure out how to best utilize the space.
I'll post some pictures after it is cleared out. The main challenge is the ceiling is sloped on either side, so that will limit the options.

Sounds like fun. Don't forget to share some pics of those firefighters, lol. Hey I can look
I can't wait to see your "victims!" I bet they turn out great. They're cute shapes.
I have done a crackle finish several times. You can layer the crackle (the second coat is what cracks -over the base color). It's true - the lighter the touch, the finer the crackling. If it's too fine, you can repeat till you like the result. I love crackling stuff! It's super easy.
Post pictures!
Thanks for the help! I didn't realize that I could repeat the process if I get the crackle too light.
I thought I could get the crackle stuff at Lowes or Home Depot...not so. The plan is to get it this weekend and practice on a wooden kleenex box that is currently yellow.
Still working on these, The Victims before:
They now have a coat of primer and one coat of paint. They need one more very light touch up coat of paint. The smaller one decided to take a roll when I was moving them indoors , so you can see that little spot on his lower right. I like them white and haven't decided if I'm going to glaze them or not.
