Not my style but I'd pick #2.

I'd pick one with an open end. No spring tension for me.

I've come back to this umpteen times trying to figure out the differences. I finally just figured out what was vertical or horizontal! Unfortunately, I don't have any real opinion about it. Maybe the horizontal is marginally stronger, but I don't know.

LOL. At first, I also see no difference until I figured out what's vertical or horizontal in the pic yesterday. Having said that, I am leaning on the straight.

Though personally I hate these open end type of tissue holder coz tissue keep falling off when I use it.

Another vote for a straight, short towel bar instead of a ring. If you chose a ring make sure that the towel is held out away from the wall or it will eventually leave marks.

If the tissue is falling off your tissue holder, you're doing it wrong.

Glad someone finally said it!

I mean, you're sitting right next to it. No need to yank!

Ours is similar to this, with a slight hook that helps prevent "falling off."

OK, I finally get what you are choosing. Honestly I'd choose based on quality of construction, price and aesthetics. This is not a decision for anyone to make but you.
