I just got this area rug I've been eyeing at ikea for a long time. I love it but it may be a little too large for the dining space? I was thinking to put this one in the living area instead and get a smaller one for the dining. What do you think? The main size issue is it kind of impedes on the walkway to the kitchen and to the front door.

Rugs in dining rooms are not a great idea. Very hard to keep clean.

I like it. We have always had a rug under the table. You just have to make the extra effort to move all the chairs to sweep.

I think either way it's a pain to clean. With just the bare floor I have to move the chairs and sweep cat hair lol. With the rug I'll just be vacuuming. Same hassle either way

I like it. I don't think it's too big.

We have a similar size rug under our dining room table and like you said, it's no bigger hassle to move the chairs to vacuum than it is to move the chairs to sweep.

I've never found a rug to be a hassle at all under a dining table when used. Now, if you have kids that could be a different story.
