Here is another link to a nice redo of an eighties era home. I like that the changes are done mostly with paint and some wallpaper. I think you might enjoy. I hope so.
The huge bold stripes in the dining room would drive me crazy, otherwise everythng else was fine. I liked the limited but nice use of orange for a music hangout on the landing.
However, the before pictures are taken from a different view than the after pictures. It was hard to visualize exactly what was done.

I love the furnishings, but I dislike the wall coverings. I could never relax in the master bedroom and I really dislike the stripes in the dining room.
Well thank god someone is figuring out what to do with these 80's aberrations. Not my favorite decade of style overall, aside from some of the better done modern contemporary homes.
The "improvements" are hideous. The dining and living rooms are downright awful. The 80s rooms weren't that great, but they at least looked inviting. I couldn't keep my dinner down in that dining room.
The dining room is painful; it is just the color choice as I can visualize the same patterns but with shades of yellows and blues providing a more comforting feel.
Pretty hard to tell what they did considering the camera angle and focal point. They give you a wide angle before pic and a close up of after of one item in the room. That's deceptive in my book. The dinning room is grossly horrible. Best of luck repainting that crap. You'll always see the strips unless you either float the walls or replace the drywall. The different layers of paint will always show thru. Yet another designer that needs to find assembly line work.
Yes those photos are not really for comparing, they are for showing off the redo only. But the Reading Area wallpaper is just awful, that grasscloth or linen look really shows the seams. Just too much of a distraction. If that is the best they could get it to look with all the lighting and art directors at their disposal I would hate to see it in person.
The dining room chandelier has an 80's look. Funny how things turn around, the original wallpaper was removed
(not a fan of wallpaper) and they added wallpaper to other rooms. How long before people will be removing that
from their walls. Never was a fan of the wall stripes....that too has been around for a while (and yes, what a pain
to paint over that).
