There is a stair from my bedroom to kitchen which doesn't get used at all & has lot of useless junk. There is another stair right outside the bedroom which is used. I am short on storage space & I see lot of potential in this stair way to convert it into mini closet.
Currently I have those over-the-door hook & hang my jackets there. I also have several hooks/nails to hang things on wall. But I want to utilize it more.
It is a narrow stair with wall on both sides. How can I use it for storage? I find myself using the first few steps to store things & the wall but I don't go down the stairs to use the entire place. Would shelving on the side be good idea for storage or even a rod to hang clothes :S
Above stairs is slanted/sloped following the stairs. I don't know what is above ceiling, not useful space, I am guessing roof. Another staircase under this stair.

You're pretty much SOL!
Having the other staircase under prevents additional storage just as the slanted ceiling above. You could conceivably remove the staircase, extend the floor across the opening and have storage space. Or wall it up, add a door at the tall end and have a closet that has a ceiling that slopes down from one end to the other.
I love the first option, that is what I want to do but at cheaper scale. I don't have the budget for build in shelves or move walls but maybe I can add extra shelves on the side leaving barely enough space in the middle for a person to use the step sideways.
Can I add short rods dropped from ceiling or wall so I can use it to hang clothes? because it is slanted I can't install slanted rods, then all my clothes will slide down. But if its short & leveled then it should stay in place.

I have doors in 2 ends, I want to do the part in bold. I want to turn it into a closet but how. Can you elaborate on this idea
