Hi all,
First time installing a faux tin backsplash to my kitchen with a marble counterop. There's a slight gap between where the backsplash panels and countertop "lip" meet (see pic). You can see the light blue paint wall color peeking through. Obviously I still need to cover the adjoining corner side, so ignore that part for now.

What type of caulk can I use to "hide" this blue paint ? I am a newbie...should I go with a clear silicone caulk or white? Never done this before...not sure how "clear" the clear silicone caulk is...don't want to put it on and then still see the blue!

1. You want mildew resistant.
2. You want waterproof.
3. You want an appropriate color.
4. You want to buy the premium version.

Clear caulk will eventually yellow and it will gather dirt and look dirty over time. I'd suggest a colored caulk in a silicone caulk. White may be too much contrast, grey (like a mortar) may be a better option for you to consider. If using a silicone caulk and you need to actually touch the caulk, keep WD-40 on your hands and fingers otherwise it will stick to you.

I suggest removing the granite "backsplash"! Then run the tiles to the counter top- caulk with an appropriate colored caulk that wil blend with the tile and/or the granite.

Putting tile/tin/whatever on TOP OF an existing splash just looks horrible/DIY/amateurish.
Do it right- do it once!

Either way, you want a 100% silicone caulk.

Check with your granite supplier to see if they have a colored product. This winter when I re-grouted my tile, I noticed they had caulk in matching colors. It was perfect to use in areas like yours where I couldn't apply grout with the float.

Beachdiver is right - you can buy caulk in nearly any color. Check with any business that sells backsplash or counter materials.
