Hi,

This is my first post on this forum. I'm working for a client at the moment who is very set on finding a specific red armchair from the movie "Dom Hemingway". I've been looking around and have had no luck finding this chair. Does anybody have any potential leads or information?

Thank you so much!

Try the movie prop resale stores and auction houses.

If you can't find the prop, maybe start with this and find someone local to redesign the arms:

Klaussner Swivel Upholstered Swivel Glide Chair with Low Profile Arms - Godby Home Furnishings - Upholstered Chair Noblesville, Carmel, Avon, Indianapolis, Indiana

Personally, I think the client is off the chain. A red chair would be easier to find.

That chair doesn't look like it would be very comfortable at all.

It might not even be a real chair. It could be a crate for the seat and two 5 gallon work buckets for the arms covered with a red cloth/blanket and the seated person is leaning against a wall. And that is exactly how comfortable it looks.

There are so many beautiful options out there that can be upholstered in a red fabric. Why the fascination with that one?

Please do all you can to discourage your client from buying this monstrosity of a chair.

Contact Ute Bergk, the set decorator on that film.

OP might also contact Knoll and Herman Miller (manufacturers of modern and post modern furniture).

They might recognize the designer or the manufacturer.
